Basic conditions

his greatest and most extensive project was impulsed by Braslaw Main Architect, Mr Mirow.  The town of Braslaw should be enriched  by  sculptures which also set  a sign for friendly  neighboring  connections with Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Russia. In the past these countries, except for Poland, united in the Sowiet  Union.  Now  they  are separated because of the new  European Union border, which was expanded by real democratical processes. But there nevertheless still are various contacts which shall be formed on voluntary base of youths now.  We gave the youth a chance to overcome this separation !   We wanted to give a clearance, a free space  in the center of  the city of Braslaw -- for a peace - and friendship sculpture , which tells from international partnership of the youth of the new EU for countries with the youth of  Russia,  Ukraine and Belarus. But in vain : Though during preparatory visit from 02. – 04. April 05 the necessary administrative editions and conditions as well as the material questions, which are connected with the building of a sculpture in the public area, were discussed with the Mayor and main architect, the realization in Braslaw was not possible because "lack of interest" . Even twice invited, weather Mayor and main architect nor the leader of the culture administration came to the KAJA camp to visit the process of the temporary installation, which should have been transfered to Braslaw in the last days of the camp

frame work :  The form of the participation of all was most important. Even if participants mainly worked in other workshops,  they used the  the chance for  temporarily limited contributions too. Therefore at first with support by everyone a frame work  was constructed. The free spaces thereupon were  filled with individual contributions.
