III 2. "cultural capitals of Europe in 2009 – in 2011

Already before, in July 2009 the European Islands wandering project took place in Vilnius / Lithuania as a part of the activities „Vilnius - European Culture Capital in 2009“. Because also absolutely some participants will participate in both meetings, the Lithuanian participants will document the activities and will be able  to put the European Islands projects  in the European context, in particular in the area of the participation of children and youth projects of the culture capital. Also the Turkish partners will documentate the state of the preparations from „in 2010 - Istanbul cultural capital of Europe“ and demonstrate how they want to participate ,that means organize an European Island meeting for the summer 2010 in Istanbul. And as also the neighbouring German region " Essen/Ruhrgebiet" will be the other culture capital in 2010, the German group will inform about the preparation of the events. After getting to know European projects in different countries, intercultural comparisons should be possible to work out the "diversity, that unites us"
