III 4. values of freedom :  "religious -- artistic dialogs Europe and the Islam".

 to the stand of the approaches/discussions reached in summer 2007 and  how they are being converted / expressed in artistic media. The topic "freedom of art and expression of opinion" as European base value  is on the agenda, after

• the German pope criticized the prophet Mohamed

• the withdrawal of the Mozart opera "Idomeneo" of the program of the German Opera in Berlin

• the  attacks against the  German Parliament representative Deligöz , who wants to fight for the rights of women in islamic countries  despite murder threats.

• the murder of the Turkish journalist Hrant Dink, who fought for the rights of minorities  

It is the aim to define freedom of religion and expression from the pont of view of the young european participants  and recognize, that they shouldn't be played off against each other. To prepare this workshop ,all groups are invited to collect  pictorial materials to form the artistic topic treatment in their country. With this workshop also Gender Mainstreaming aspects shall be discussed ( the headscarf as a sign of the oppression or liberation of the women ? )
