 III 2.  concepts "of the documenta 12  in Kassel  and the "sculpture projects 07" in Münster

last year the  documenta 12 , the biggest exhibition of contemporary art  worldwide, took place in Kassel. The main curator  Thomas Buergel, has  emphatically pointed out the education aspect of the event, when explained , that the global process of cultural translation is mirrored in the art. So art offers a a chance for an all-embracing public debate . To educate the public means not only to give impulses for learning processes, but actually to generate a public situation for the selfeducation of the public. Today esthetic education seems to be the only alternative.  In front of this background we will visit the projects, which were realized for the "sculpture projects 07" (biggest exhibition of sculptures in the public space / August 07 in  Münster, 20 Km away from Ibbenbüren)  and see, what has "survived".

After coming home from the excursion  we will evaluate the visits in following evenings. Participants are asked, if they found artists from their homecountries , participants projects and especially concepts, which could connect the famous art events with the concepts of the European Islands workshops.  Step by step we learn more from documenta concept, here a new impuls : what means " migration of forms" in documenta 12 ? What could it mean in our project, if forms migrate from participating countries for a common project in Germany ?
